If you filed your tax refund by mail it will take six to eight weeks to receive your refund check. If you filed elecronically you can receive your refund in as little as 24 hours.

I would say that you would be extremely lucky to even receive a refund. My mother has been waiting for hers since 2003

The IRS can take as long as it needs to in order to properly verify that you are owed a refund. If they don't send your refund within 45 days after April 15 or 45 after they receive your return (whichever is later), they will pay interest. (The interest is taxable.)

If you e-file and you have chosen direct deposit, most people will receive their refund within 5 business days. If you have chosen to receive a paper check you should add 2-4 business days for processing.
