The base pay for all branches of the military is determined by a pale scale based on rank (and corresponding pay grade) and time in service, NOT by MOS. An infantryman will not get paid any more than a cook, mechanic, truck driver, desk clerk, or anyone else in the military of equal rank and time in service.
