You have listed three special order features on that rifle. In that configuration, the gun is highly collectable and could be worth a few thousand dollars. Everything hinges on condition and originality. If you can send us digital photos we can get you in the ballpark. sales@countrygunsmith.net
I can give you a more accurate value if you will provide the serial number(to determine the year of manufacture). I will also need to know if your rifle has any special features such as a takedown model,A button magazine(half magazine),special wood, pistol grip buttstock, round barrel or half round half octagon,or full octagon barrel etc.
Without saying the model number in your question? The best that I can do is say that you may have 1 of 2 models. The savage model 25 had a octagon barrel and a pump action, open sights, takedown, hammerless, tube magazine, plain pistol grip stock. These were made between 1925-1929.The second model is the model 29.These pump action .22cal rifles had a 22in.octagon barrel until 1940,open sights, checkered pistol grip stock on the pre-war version.these were made by savage between 1929-1967.
These fine old pre war winchester,s are going for between 400-700 dollars or more depending on the overall amount of original finish left on the wood and metal. It also important if it has a octagon barrel or round, and if a half magazine or full. If this model 1894 is a takedown model it will demand quite a bit more in value than what I listed above.
year 1896
post the serial and your get an answer.
It will be eight sided, thus the name hexagon barrel.
In this model of Winchester rifle, there is no difference in value between the round or octagon barrel.
In order to answer your question correctly,I would need a detailed description of the rifle in question. It is very important to describe the amount of original finish remaining, and if any special order features are present, including a octagon barrel, half octagon half round barrel, special wood, checkered wood, half magazine,is it a takedown model? All these will have a effect on the price of the rifle.A Winchester model 1894 rifle that was made in the year 1904 could have respectable collector value. You may want to consider having your rifle examined by a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.to determine a more accurate value.
Depends on what you have.
that will depend on when your rifle was made(need serial number) and the condition of the rifle, amount of blueing finish left on the wood, overall condition of the rifle? Also any custom features,Like is it a takedown model, octagon barrel etc.
Your serial number indicates that your Winchester model 1894 rifle was made in the year 1899.Being such a early model 1894 rifle,I would have it appraised by a member of the Winchester collectors assoc. It could bring in the neighborhood of 1,500-2000 dollars in the condition you describe.Especially if it has any special order features which could be ordered in that time. These would include checkered wood, special wood, half magazine, octagon barrel, special barrel length,a take down model etc.
