How much would it cost to attend the Air Force Academy if they charged money?

All cadets are required to live on campus all four years in the Academy's two dormitories, Vandenberg Hall and Sijan Hall. Living off campus is not available, nor are cadets permitted to maintain a residence within 150 miles of the campus.

The sole exception to this rule is something called Top Off, in which First Class Cadets, seniors about to graduate and become officers, are given special permission to live off base at the end of their last year at the Academy to prepare for life after graduation. However, this usually is only available for 1-2 months before graduation, depending on the performance of the cadet wing as a whole, and as such finding a residence is nearly impossible and those who choose to normally are simply living with a significant other or family member in the area.
