Specialty Officers have more specialized skills and work in the medical or judicial areas of the guard or serve as chaplains. Warrant Officer is the third type and acts as an expert in their area of expertise. The pay scale varies depending on your level of education and position within the National Guard. Members perform 12 weekend drills and an additional 15 days of training annually. The pay starts out at $3,000 yearly for the lowest earners and increases to a little less than $13,000 at the high end for enlisted men. If you join the Alaska National Guard where do you typically go for basic training?
Depends on your MOS, but it will be in the lower 48. Infantry goes to Ft. Benning, Artillery goes to Ft. Sill, etc. There are no Basic Training posts in Alaska. You'll find out where you're to report to for BCT once you sign your enlistment contract at the Military Entrance and Processing Centre (MEPS).
