Im leaving for marine corps bootcamp in october and need to find an MOS dont want to be inside behind a desk and would rather not be infantry what should you do?

Check with your recruiter. I am surprised that you have not already gone down the list of MOS's to choose from other than being in the "Infantry" with your recruiter. If you have already signed the contract to be in the 'Infantry', that is where you will be until you have the opportunity to reenlist. Sometimes you can make a change in 'Boot Camp', but it isn't easy. There are many MOS's to choose from, which you should have already done with your recruiter. Here are some of the MOS's that are not "Infantry" and not behind a desk, they are:

• 0600 MOS (Communications)
• 1100 MOS (Electrician, Refrigeration/A/C, Water Support Tech.)
• 1300 MOS (Metal Worker, Engineer Equip. Mechanic, Combat Engineer)
• 3100 MOS (Traffic Management)
• 3300 MOS (Food Service)
• 3500 MOS (Motor Transport)
• 5500 MOS (Music)
• 5800 MOS (Police)
• 5900 MOS (Communication Maint.)
• 6000/6100/6200 MOS's (Aircraft Maintenance)
• 6300/6400 (Avionics)
• 6800 (Meteorology and Oceanography)
• 7000 (Airfield Services)
• 7200 (Air Traffic Control)
• 7300 (Enlisted Flight Crews)
