In what ways did President Truman propose to contain communism?

His most dramatic actions that represented this idea was the US Military's large participation in the Korean War. He sought to contain the communism of North Korea as it invaded South Korea. Th two year battle cost the US over 25,000 combat deaths. Other democratic nations in the UN furnished thousands of troops as well. The US had the most troops than any other nation in containing the North Korean invasion of South Korea.
