How is army gt score calculated?

GT stands for General Technical. The GT score is a composite score derived from several areas of the Armed Services Vocational Ability Battery (ASVAB). It is a calculated mostly from the results of the arithmetic, reasoning, and verbal expression (word knowledge and reading comprehension) sections. A GT score is important as a prerequisite for several positions in the military. The general cutoff for the more desirable jobs in the military requires a GT score of at least 110. An extremely high GT score would be 130.

Is 69 AFQT on the ASVAB give you a 110gt score?

No, a 69 AFQT score on the ASVAB does not directly equate to a GT score of 110. The Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score and the General Technical (GT) score are calculated differently. The AFQT score is derived from a combination of four subtests, while the GT score is based on a combination of the verbal and mathematical subtests. To determine the GT score, you would need to look at the specific subtest scores rather than just the AFQT score.

What will be there in gre?

What is the equivalent IQ score for a miliary gt score of 137?

There is a site that accepts an Army pre-1980 GT score of 136 as evidence for an IQ in the top 2% of IQ,starting at 130 or higher. My 1962 GT was 140; IF the factor 136/130 is valid, a divisor of 1.046+... applied to 140 yields 133.823, a ridiculous accuracy, but there it is. A a pre-1980 GT of 137 would be (another ridiculous accuracy) and yield an IQ of 130.95588. Hurray.

You received an 81 on your general ASVAB score Could I be eligible for Officer Candidate School also I currently don't know my breakdown I just received my score today. Thanks Chris?

OCS does not go by the general AFQT score. They use the GT score. 81 is probably your AFQT score. You need a 110 on your GT score to be eligible for OCS. With an 81 AFQT score, you probably have a high enough GT score.

What is the highest possible GT score?

I just took the ASVAB and I have also been looking around to find the highest possible GT score. I believe it to be 130. The GT component is calculated by adding WK to the AR. Now I believe (*BELIEVE not KNOW*) the maximum you can score in either component is 65. 65+65=130. I have read this on many sites and they have a wide variety of scores. I do not work for the DOD, actually haven't signed any papers yet. This is what I believe to be true 130. The component values may actually grade up to 70; 70+70=140. I have read this also. My recruiter will not tell me. He doesn't tell me much. At all. I think it's because he can't tell me; not that he doesn't want to tell me. I am looking at my 'unofficial report' right now. They printed it out right after they officially put my scores in the computer at MEPS. Your GT isn't everything, although it is a lot and will make or break your chances of doing what you want. If you want to be a pilot chances are your GT doesn't mean zip if you don't smoke the AFAST or know someone important who likes you enough to help you. If you have a menial GT and have connections well BOOM! there you go. What you worried about son? At the end of the day what you know will only get you so far, it will eventually become about who you know. So get references! Get some extra curricular activities. Not an athlete, you're probably out of luck if you don't have the GT. Because you will also have to take and pass a PFT. Why do I mention this? They weigh you as an overall person not just a GT score. Unless your GT is low. Well I don't know the max for sure, but my GT is 139. I've never met anyone higher. I believe in the day of paper tests the max was 130. Since the computerized ASVAB gets increasingly difficult if you do well, they upped the maximum. I took the asvab when I enlisted in 1976, and my GT score was 141. I have been looking around to try and figure out what the max is (or was then) and have read 130 and 140 a few times. Obviously something is off or the scoring has changed since then. The max has changed from year to year depending on what was needed to fill certain jobs. It is a game the higher echelons play to fill slots without lowering standards. It actually goes up and down. Most recruiters only know for the time they are serving their special assignment. The max has been from 130 up to 160, I believe. I have a 129 for the time frame that the test was scored at a 130. Now it's common to see 143 and 139. I joined US Army in Dec 1973. Basic at Ft Dix; AIT at Ft Ben Harrison; reg duty station USAREUR, Hanau, Germany w the 3rd ADA. When I got to Bn HQ, the personnel clerk (an E-4 who was 4 months short) fairly flipped out & said I'd gotten a 160 on my GT score & in all his time he'd never seen a score that high. I didn't realize I'd maxed the test until he pointed it out. But he was correct. My battery aptitude score on the GT shows as 160. But it's not the GT score or IQ that matters, it's what you do with it that matters. Plenty of 110 GT people (just taking a number to make a point) who outperform many so called geniuses. IQ is something you're proud of when you're young but as you get older & wiser, you realize drive, ambition, ingenuity, integrity etc. count for way more than IQ/intelligence level. I enlisted in the Army in 1977 after graduating college. I was told that I had a GT score of 141 and missed one question in the battery of tests. So I am interested in the highest one can get as a GT score. I then took the D-Lat test and passed that to be a Russian cryptologist (although I could have chosen Swahili or Mandarin Chinese as well). However, I didn't want to do 4 years, so I became an MP instead. I just took the ASVAB today and got a GT score of 141. I'm 90% confident I got at least 2 sections completely correct and they posted scores of 141 so that may be the highest score possible. I took the test in 1974 and got a score of 159. I met one other soldier whose score was 159 and I was told by the Operations NCO that the max score was 160. I have sent for documentation of my score and when I get it I will be joining the Triple Nine Society. The calculation for GT scoring has changed over the years. Someone who scored a 150 in the 1970s would today score somewhere in the 130s. I'm not sure what the highest possible is, but the highest I have seen is 143. I scored a 134 and made a 99 overall. Just took the ASVAB March 2010, and my AFQT was 99 with a GT (Army) 146. I took the ASVAB with the Marine Corps in September 2009 and got a 99 AFQT and a 146 GT. My instructor at MOS school (data tech) said it was the highest he's ever seen and that the max was 150. Took the AFQT in 07, got a 97 overall, GT: 150, MM: 155, CL: 125, EL: 133. 150 is the highest I or anyone I know has ever seen (I don't really remember taking the test, guess I got lucky and fell asleep on the right keys.) and yes, those are the Marine Corps scores, off my MOL page, don't remember now what the other services' scores were on the little paper they give you at meps. GSTETSON: I took the ASVAB back in 1983 when I joined the Army and I have a GT score of 155 and it's even documented on my DD214 which I just recently received a copy of after 25 years. I'm not sure what the highest score is but no one ever told me my score was high. I did, however, have the option of ANY MOS i wanted when I enlisted.
