No he plans on giving $10 Billion to the discovery of new and better fuels. This includes clean coal. Coal that doesnt harm the envirnment as much. This would probably increase the amount of coal used in this country. Actually coal accounts for almost 40% of the US carbon emissions footprint. Even if the expensive and unproven clean coal technology comes through, we only have a 100 year supply of coal in the US. It will not open up jobs and will cause Asthma and might cause toxins to run into our underground water supply.
Most of his policy's will bring the coal industry to it's knees, which of course will have the unintended consequence of making energy bills in some areas of the country go up substantially.
No way! Coal is already on the nose! Nobody wants it (dirty, polluting, global-warming-causing) except the fossil fuel (coal, oil and natural gas) companies that have wasted billions searching. They are all going to be bankrupt, unfortunately for them!
They didn't go bankrupt, the company simply dissolved with new EPA restrictions in the 1970's. K-Zacherl
