If the U.S. economy has negative growth for two consecutive quarters, it is technically
considered a beginning of a recession. In addition if we have an economic recovery without new job growth, this situation has a severe impact of the economy.
No because the rich are still getting rich and middle class still live very good; despite their wining and complaining. Yesterday was Black Friday, People were lined up like crazy at wall-marts all across the U.S. ready to shop till they drop. The only people facing a recession now are the poor low income families who have basically been facing a "recession" their whole lives...But nobody cares about us poor folk' anyway. So to answer your question, no, there is no recession in the U.S. as far as I can tell.
