No usable information travels faster than light, as far as our knowledge goes.

But there are loopholes.

Objects with imaginary mass (sqrt of negative one), or tachyons, always go faster than light. But...the problem is that we can never interact with tachyons, meaning there's no way to prove that they exist (they probably don't. I mean, imaginary mass?)

If you sweep a flashlight across the night sky, the light beam might move astronomical distances in a few seconds (sometimes exceeding the speed of light), but it doesn't provide any information, really.

Two particles in entanglement will always have opposite spins, no matter how fast. Change the spin of one to down, and its partner, even if it's across the universe, will instantlyspin up. But this information is random, and really, can't be used for anything...

Space doesn't fall under the applications of special relativity, so it can theoretically travel faster than the speed of light. So if you want to "ride" the space wave by stretching or tearing it, you might be able to avoid the ultimate light-speed copper. Problem is, it takes a space stretcher to make a space stretcher. So...probably not going to happen.

Or you can rip space. We're not sure where you'll end up if you go through ripped space though, and it still takes a huge amount of energy to do it. (trust me, far more than you'll ever see in your lifetime.)

But who knows? I bet ancient Greeks thought it was impossible to travel around the world in a few days. Maybe we'll surprise ourselves!
