The Obamas have one dog with them at the White House, a neutered male Portuguese Water Dog named Bo. The Obamas chose Portuguese Water Dogs in part because they are hypoallergenic, meaning they are unlikely to trigger allergic reactions in Malia, one of President Obama's daughters who is allergic to dogs.
Bo was gifted to the Obamas by the now late Senator Ted Kennedy.
Additionally, the United States Secret Service (which is entrusted, among other duties, with personally protecting the President and are near him at all times wherever he is, whether at the White House or elsewhere in the world) uses Belgian Malinois dogs (otherwise known as Belgian Shepherds) exclusively for their work.

the animals that lived in the white house are horses, goat, snake, dogs, cats, and parets
actually, they will prefer any kind of dogs not just white ones. if they can find an animal, they will eat, breed, survive and thrive. they are very interesting animals to me.
no
Dalmatians are more prone to be color blind . actually dogs with patches or spots of white are more likely to be color blind rather than than pure white dogs or dogs without white.
The first Presidential dogs to live in the White House were Juno and Satan, owned by John Adams
The President's dog is allowed in the White House. I would expect that service dogs would be allowed, but would have to be 'cleared' the same way that many people are cleared.
A west highland white terrier or mostly called a westie.
