What did President Truman do to bring an end to World War 2?

Arguably nothing. He pretty much just let things continue as they had been going. It's true that the ultimate decision on whether or not to use the atom bombs was his, but General Leslie Groves who oversaw the Manhattan Project was once quoted as saying "Truman did not so much say yes as not say no. It would have been very difficult to say no at that point."
