Like Republicans, Democrats want to see the country protected and want to keep it safe. It is a partisan myth that Democrats don't care about the military or don't care about the country's security. However, Republicans are generally associated with being more "hawkish" and always vote to expand the military budget; Democrats, while wanting the military to have what it needs to defend us, are more likely to want to see the military budget used more effectively, with unnecessary expenditures cut back and funding eliminated for weapons that the Pentagon no longer wants.
Democratic I think
George Washington virtually dismantled the army when the war ended. I don't think defense spending ever got any lower than in his administration.
They support it
I think the African Americans were for the democratic party.......but I'm not sure.
the Feduralist... i think i spelled that wrong.
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were the two most prominent leaders of the Democratic-Republican Party. It was founded in 1791.
If you mean Democratic as in, pertaining to the Democratic party, then the Democratic party has argued that gays should be able to serve in the military. If you mean democratic as in, what the population would vote for in a referrendum, then it depends entirely on the population in question. I think that such a referrendum in the USA today would be very tight between supporters and opponents.
The Wiemar Republic. Don't quote me :P They were a democratic party . . . I think
The Republican Party always delivers official responses to Democratic Presidents' major speeches, and the Democratic Party always delivers official responses to Republican Presidents' major speeches.
Washington was not a party member and he did not like the idea of political parties. However, his policies were closer to the Federalists and John Adams than to Jefferson's party.
I think if Bill Clinton gave to a political party it would be to the party of which he is a member, the Democratic Party. GOP, or Grand Old Party, is a nickname of the Republican Party.
national defense, foreign aid, education and transportation...(although I do not think its limited to just these categories...)
