Here is the story of the life of Lyndon B.Johnson.Lyndon B.Johnson was born on August 27,1908 in Texas.In 1930 Johnson graduated from college.In 1934 he married Ladybird Taylor.The couple had two children.In 1937 Johnson was elected to the United States House Of Representatives.He served in the navy during World War 2.In 1948 Johnson was elected to the United States senate.In 1955 he became a senate majority leader.In 1961 Johnson became vice president under John F.Kennedy.In 1963 he became the 36th president of the United States after president Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.In 1964 Johnson was elected to a full term as president.In 1965 he signed the Voting Rights Act.In 1967 Johnson put the first Afrcian American to the Supreme Court.His name was Thurgood Marshall.In 1968 Johnson chose not to run again for president and Richard Nixon won the election for president.In 1969 he left the White House and retired to his ranch in Texas.Lyndon B.Johnson died on January 22,1973.
