Essentially there is no viable difference between the USA Army and the Israeli Army. They have the same fighting ability and I would not want to come up against an Israeli Commando type of soldier or really any of their soldiers even though a large majority of their recruits are drafted by national law and they have a smaller army than the US.
Due to the lower population they must use a draft conscription but that does not mean the soldiers are not good soldiers. In comparison to the US and the Brits they are equal in ability and killing power.
Their weapons are similar and some come from the US.
Now if you really want to avoid any Israeli military foe it would be their airmen. They have awesome planes and pilots.

Israelis are generally Jews of all ethnicities, traditionally believed to be the descendants of the diaspora come back to the "Promised Land" of Moses. Each has a strong argument as to why they should be there, but only the Israelis have had recognized legitimacy from the Western World, especially the US.
