It depends. If you mean the piece of paper on which you write a letter, it's spelled "stationery." If you mean the word which describes something that doesn't move, then it's spelled "stationary." A little trick remember is that "letter" is spelled with an E as is the stationery on which you write the letter.

The word stationary can be spelled in two ways.

Stationary: Not moving or not intended to be moved; being still.

I remained stationary when I saw the mouse near my shoe.

Stationery: Writing materials such as writing/typing paper, pens, pencils etc.

I have to go buy stationery for my home office.
