Even though dissenting opinions are not the law, they can be important in many ways:
Depends on what oposing animal you are basing the question.
The focus on self-importance is egotism.
Free public opinion is the soul of Democracy, since they are inside of the ethical and moral values.

Defend the running backs of the oposing team. They also can block thier opponents.
A dig is playing a ball from the oposing teams spike in a way that it is playable for a second touch.
It is important because fact is what is proven by an official and opinion is what you determine on your own. :)
