The Sacagawea design was issued in 2000. To the best of my knowledge no coins have ever been reported that are missing the motto, which is on the obverse (front) of the coin to the left of Sacagawea's hair.
Perhaps you are confusing this with the 2007 presidential dollar series where the motto, date, and mint mark are incused on the coins' edge. Some coins were accidentally not sent through the edge press and so do not carry those inscriptions. These have bounced around in value quite a bit but seem to have settled in the $30 to $50 range, at least as of a few weeks ago.
Two notes:
First, the coins are golden in color, not gold. They're made of a manganese-nickel-copper alloy that just looks golden.
Second, in case anyone tells you these are "Godless" coins, the entire inscription is missing, not just the motto. There is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER to support the "conspiracy theory" that this error was an intentional attempt to remove a reference to God.
The Presidential Dollar Coin had the phrase around the edge for the first two years and for the last 3 and half years it has been moved onto the front of the coin.
No. The phrase "In God We Trust" wasn't added to US paper currency until 1957.
That's correct. The phrase "In God We Trust" wasn't added to paper currency until 1957.
No, 1950 series E one hundred dollar bills do not have the phrase "In God We Trust" printed on them. The motto "In God We Trust" first appeared on U.S. currency in 1957.
No, it has In God WE Trust. Earlier coins in the series have the phrase engraved around the edge, while later coins have it on the front.
That phrase wasn't placed on $5 bills until 1963 so the fact that it's missing from an earlier bill is normal. Please see the Related Question for values.
1.00 the phrase is printed on all dollars so it is a normal dollar.
The motto " In God We Trust " was added to dollar coins in 1866. There was no mintage of 1871 dollars without the motto.
The motto wasn't added to $10 bills until 1963. Please see the Related Questions for more information.
Please check the date and post a new, separate question. The motto was added to ALL $20 notes starting in the 1960s
What is a 1950 one hundred dollar bill without "In God We Trust" worth?
It's worth maybe $10 in average condition, unless it's a brown seal Hawaiian note, which is worth at least $25. About it not saying "In God We Trust," the phrase wasn't added to currency until the 1950s.
