In the United States as it pertains to interaction between military and civilians, it is not against any rule or law to wear the uniform of any branch of the military, unless it is either deliberately or indeliberately passing you off as a member of said branch. Im not sure how it works with nco's but I do know that posing as an officer in any branch is a federal offense. so my suggestion is this...if you want to wear them I would recommend removing all insignia (branch ident, name tape, rank chevrons or whatever applies.) When you are wearing them and someone asks you what branch you are in after they look at you, then you are safe.
