There were many different types of torpedo used in WW2 and their range depended on what speed they were set to make.
The American Mk 14 was normally 4,500 yards,(4,100m).
The Japanese type 90 was 7,000 yards,(7,650m).
The Japanese type 93 was 21,900 yards, (20,000m).
The German G7a T1 was 5,000 yards at first, later increased to 6,560 yards,(6,000m).
The British Mark VIII was 5,000 yards, (4,570m).
