the congress always claimed that it spoke for all the Indians, while the Muslim league believed that it only represented the Hindus and disregarded Muslim views, which was pretty much true. Secondly, congress obviously did not want to let a considerable part of the subcontinent go off, willing to rule all of it.. and frankly, losing it to the Mulsims that formed a minority, was too much of a loss to its pride.....
