"(branch of"(branch of service) One service) One
Air force one for airplane or Marine one for helicopter
Air Force One. If the president is in a military operated aircraft, that aircraft will always be "(branch of service) One". The helicopter which transports the President is operated by the Marines, and is known as Marine One. If the President were in an Army, Navy, or Coast Guard aircraft, it would be known as Army One, Navy One, or Coast Guard One, respectively.
If the president is on a fixed-wing airplane, it is normally Air Force One. If he's on a helicopter, it is Marine One. When President Bush flew to an aircraft carrier to give a speech, the plane he flew on was named Navy One because it was a Navy-owned aircraft.
Any aircraft the president boards instantly assumes the callsign "Air-force One"
The force of an airplane that opposes thrust is called drag. Drag is the resistance force that acts opposite to the direction of motion of the aircraft and is caused by the interaction of the aircraft with the surrounding air.
Thrust is the produced force of the aircraft that propels the aircraft forward in order to overcome drag. Drag is the natural force of the air that resists the motion of the aircraft.
Air Force One is the call sign used describe any aircraft carrying the US President, so in theory Air Force One could be any type of aircraft. The official Presidential fleet consists of two customised Boeing 747s, either of which may be colloquially referred to as Air Force One. However this only becomes the official designation when the President is on board.
Gravity is the main resistance force on any aircraft. Wind resistance would be second.
In 1958 President Dwight D. Eisenhower became the first president to use the Boeing 707 as the first jet aircraft with the call sign Air Force One.
Air force one.
The pilot of the president's aircraft changes every 4 or 8 years. In other words the air force selects the pilots to fly the aircraft when a new president comes to town. It is important to note that the pilots of these airplanes (there are two airplanes that look the same, air force one is the one the airplane is in at that moment) are chosen from the air force.
The airplane that the president is flying on receives the designation Air Force One.
