During Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation for its exceptional performance. Additionally, individual Marines received various medals, including the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. These honors recognized their bravery and service during the conflict. The battalion’s contributions were significant in the success of the operations in the region.
The place of a battle Vietnam fought between U.S. Marines and the NVA during Operation Prarie in 1967. It was named after the radio call sign of 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment.
well I suppose the simple answer is you can't!...the Royal Green Jackets along with other regiments were amalgamated into The Rifles Regiment. The 1st battalion Royal Green Jackets became the 2nd battalion The Rifles Regiment, and the 2nd battalion Royal Green Jackets became the 4th Battalion The Rifles Regiment. It appears the 3rd battalion and 4th Battalion (T.A.) are now disbanded.
