When will the president do anything he promised?

This brings to mind an old saying that " something is easier said than done." When people run for office they can make promises, but when they get into office they find that it is harder to do accomplish than they thought. This is what is happening with Obama and he has the system working against him. Too many people, on both sides, want the status quo to remain and they work against change. I think he needs to do a little backroom politics and do what LBJ use to do. He would call in someone one on one and they would leave the White House voting with him. That is how the Civil Rights Act in 1965 got passed. He knew where the bodies were buried. When Obama brought in Clinton people I thought that this was pretty smart because they had all ready worked in the White House and should know things, but this doesn't seem to have played out. I think Obama needs to get a little tougher to get his agenda passed.
