Where can you find the medals that you were awarded from the Navy?

You can contact the Navy Department and request a copy of your service record, which will list all of your awards and medals. There are numerous places on line that will provide medals and ribbons and mount them in shadow boxes.

If you are on active duty, your service record will list them.

If you have been discharged, your discharge papers, the DD-214, will list the awards.

If you do not have the records, contact the US Archives and request a copy of your service record.

You are entitled to the ones you have earned. An expert with a firearm can earn a medal. Most of the rest are awarded for meritorious conduct, or participation in major events. Your service record will list the awards you are entitled to wear.
