As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, the current Field Marshal of the Indian Army is Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa, who was the first Indian to hold the position, although he was appointed posthumously in 1986. In terms of active field marshals, India does not have any currently serving field marshals.
