The National Rifle Association (NRA) sponsors a range of political candidates, organizations, and events that advocate for gun rights and the Second Amendment. They primarily support Republican candidates who align with their pro-gun agenda. Additionally, the NRA funds various educational programs, shooting competitions, and grassroots efforts to mobilize supporters in favor of gun ownership and legislation.
NRA is short for NRA-ILA which would stand for National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action. This of course is a conservative group of people who fight against gun control, gun bans, and try to prevent more liberal people from passing any sort of anti-gun law. The organization also sponsors classes that teach gun safety and proper handling of firearms and spring powered weapons. The main goal of the NRA is to protect the Second Amendment, thus protecting the rights of every American to own and use a firearm. The NRA was established in 1871 by William Conant Church and George Wood Wingate.
