im not pretty sure.....but i think its the speaker of the house....
hii
Isn't it the Speaker of the House.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives. If they can not serve, then the President pro tempore becomes the President.
The President appoints a replacement, who must be approved by both houses of Congress.
Although the Speaker of the House would assume the presidency if both the President and Vice-President die or are rendered incapable of carrying out the duties of the office, to date this has not actually happened except in fiction.
If the vice president is unable to fulfill their duties or vacates their position, the president will nominate a new vice president, who must then be confirmed by a majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The newly appointed vice president will serve until the end of the original vice president's term.
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress. --From the 25th amendment
The Presidential Succession Act of 1947. This gives clear order to who would become president if the President and Vice President where to die or be incapacitated and unable to perform the duties of president.
In accordance with Amendment 25 of the United States Constitution, if the vice president dies, resigns or is otherwise removed, the President of the United States nominates his or her replacement. That person assumes the position of vice president after he or she has been confirmed by a majority vote by both houses of Congress.
the dude
Yes, Congress can impeach both the President and Vice President simultaneously.
If the presidency is vacancy. the VP becomes president and and new VP is promptly appointed . If the president and VP both die at once, the Speaker of the House becomes president.
