1. Every country needs to be able to defend itself and help its allies.
2. It's an interesting career that you can be proud of, definitely much better than sitting behind a desk 40 hours a week.
3. Soldiers are heroes, and you would be able to wake up every morning knowing you are a hero.
4. In the past 10 years (Afghanistan era) about 150 soldiers have died, out of roughly 100,000 soldiers. That's less than 0.5 percent.
5. The pension and benefits are amazing.
