There are many reasons that students have interests in gambling. A big reason is because they believe that they will win and come out with more than they came in with. This is common in all ages of gamblers though, because gambling was designed to do this. Also, students like to gamble, because they believe it is "cool" or popular people do it, and many college students do it, because they like to do things they couldn't do when they are a kid, since gambling is illegal for minors in the US.
