There is a great deal behind the scenes in a political campaign, and it looks like Hillary has gotten the support she needs compared to Sanders. Sanders has been an independent most of his time in office and that puts a wedge between him and the party leaders. The way our system has worked out is that anyone who doesn't always tow the party line is not given a chance to prove they are a good choice for an office like the presidency. Washington was right when he warned that political parties would take over policy and serve themselves. They wouldn't work for the better of the common good.
