It gave us a glimpse into the territory we just bought. they were looking for the northwest Passage (a river ow water way that went from the Atlantic to the Pacific. so if you want to be technical it was a failed expedition but it did tell us exactly what was there. Historically the expedition changed nothing no working man would have cared back then. we just teach it because it was the last great journey into the unknown in history.
