Well, the native Americans were killed off by disease and war between them and the European Immigrants. Their are way too many tribes and arguments to really detail. But for the most part that sums it up. Then of course their was the legendary Trail of Tears. Andrew Jackson was one of the famous people among the makers of this plan. They decided to force all the Native Americans out of their homes and sent them into concentration camps(or as we refer to them now, reserves.) Soon almost all the Native American population died out from Slavery, Disease, Murder Ect. Basically it was one of the biggest atrocities ever committed by man. Of course they don't tell you that part during Thanksgiving.
At first the American Indian greeted and embraced the Europeans, helping them adapt to a climate and land they were not used to. Some tribes were leery of these strange new beings. It was after natives were betrayed by stealing lands, lying and cheating, being made slaves of that the Indian realized that the Europeans could not be trusted. Generally, tribes began to fight back during the next five hundred years of planned genocide by the Europeans.
The Native Americans did not like that the white settlers were constantly taking more and more of their land. In 1763, Chief Pontiac goes on a raid to attack all white settlers because they kept on settling on their land. This event, known as Pontiac's Rebellion, scared England and resulted in the establishment of the Proclamation Line. Around the time of the War of 1812, Tecumseh and his brother, the Prophet, formed a federation between Native American tribes. This was like an act of retaliation against American expansion. They were supplied with weaponry and bribed with money by the English to kill the white settlers.
