Men are now free to take "paternity leaves" with major companies, and there may be a rise in male homemakers.
Ironically, this increased gender freedom makes thing harder on transsexual persons. They tend to be treated better in society when gender roles are enforced. When men are supposed to look one way, and women are supposed to look another, and gender bending and variance is not allowed, transsexual women are less likely to be read as men or misgendered (deliberately calling someone the wrong pronouns to degrade them or deny the person's true sense of gender they are trying to communicate to the world). So while most people have more freedom with how gender roles are today, some people are adversely affected by this.
