ALL American coins have the word LIBERTY on them, and many have an image of Miss Liberty, so that's not in and of itself enough to ID a coin.

Assuming you have a piece that's about 40mm in diameter and says "One Oz .999 Silver" or similar on the back, it's a bullion piece sold for its metal content rather than for spending, and the $1 denomination is artificial. Silver is currently about $17/oz on the spot market.
