Since this was posted in US I am assuming this is a US 1825 one cent coin. The value for that will probably range between $18-600 depending entirely on condition. Chances are your coin will fall in the $20 range.

If the coin is heavily worn, with very little detail left in the hair and face, go with 20-ish. If the hair is somewhat worn, but fairly complete, go with around 35-60. If there appears to be no wear, and the coin still has luster and shine, it's going to be worth more. A "near-perfect" coin would range in the low thousands, but these are extremely rare.

I would recommend finding a friend who knows coins, or a local coin dealer, especially if the coin looks appealing and clean. They will be able to see the coin and tell you better where your coin falls in the grading scale, and therefore on the value scale. And if it is really nice they may be willing to buy it.
