There are many factors that contribute to a coins value. The wear and condition of the coin is a huge role in the pricing of ALL coins along with how many were minted and/or melted. Coins in better or rarer condition tend to bring higher prices. A 1935 penny (assuming it has no mint mark) has a very high mintage of over 245,000,000 making this penny worth right around 15-25 cents.

Rather than selling this penny, you're better off giving it to a child or grandchild to hold on to and possibly get them into collecting coins.
