  2. Women had to go to work in US mines and factories.
  3. Homemakers recycled everything, including rags to send overseas for soldiers to use on equipment.
  4. Rationing was a huge sacrifice. Little bread, milk, cheese, eggs, produce, etc.
  5. People made do to get by.
