It is time for us Filipinos, especially for Filipinos-in-the-Philippines to recover our history, a nationalist history, which necessitates uncovering the lies and myths about America; since the American arrival into and 50-year occupation of our homeland, the sweet nothings about "Philippine-American Special Relations", etc. perpetuated through our school textbooks, mass media, government pronouncements, Filipinos with Americanized minds, etc.

As world history always demonstrates, history is written by the victors. In our case, then Spaniards then and Americans thereafter, our history were written by them from their viewpoint with their racial prejudices and exceptionalism. We need to expose all these.
