Rare coins are not common. Some rare coins that well known would be a 1909 S VDB penny.
yes there were coins made in the past there are some that were made in 1910
I'm guessing you have some sort of set that was sold as "special collectible coins" with that title. The San Francisco Mint only produced dimes and cents in 1955 and none of them are particularly rare. If the coins are uncirculated, as of 08/2014 the dime might retail for as little as $3.50 or as much as $55.00 depending on quality, while the cent would be anywhere from 35¢ to $7.00. Both ranges are actually less than prices for comparable 1955 coins from the Denver Mint.
It's not up side down, just look at some of your pocket change all US coins are made that way.
Some rare U.S. coins from 1945 to the present that you might find in pocket change include the 1946 to 1964 Roosevelt dimes, particularly those minted in San Francisco, which can be valuable. The 1950-D Jefferson nickel is also sought after due to its low mintage. Additionally, the 1970-S proof Lincoln penny, although not intended for circulation, can occasionally end up in pocket change. Lastly, the 1982 and 1983 copper Lincoln pennies, which were produced in smaller quantities, are worth checking for as they can be valuable to collectors.

there are coin shows and coin collecting clubs. I'm sure you can also buy rare coins on the internet. Some pawn shops or jewelry stores may have some rare coins. And private dealers.
No. If you refer to the early release of some 2011 coins in 2010, it was done deliberately by the Royal Mint from October, 2010.
That depends on which rare coin you have. Some rare coins are worth only 150 dollars in average circulated condition while others are worth thousands of dollars. To get a more specific answer include the date and denomination of your coin.
For Morgan dollars, Carson-City mintmarked coins are common, but some dates are considered scarce and some are rare in the higher grades. But no, not all CC Morgens are rare.
The most expensive Strait Settlement coin is typically the 1900 $1 silver dollar, especially in high grades. These coins are highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance and limited mintage. Prices can vary significantly based on condition, with some specimens fetching tens of thousands of dollars at auctions. Other rare denominations, such as the 1900 $5 and $10 coins, can also command high prices.
The coins all have 13 stars on the edge this is normal and not an error.
2011 Lincoln cents are not rare. It just takes some time for "current year issue" coins to make their way into circulation.
depends what you consiter rare over a cource of hundreds of years millions of coins were produced by the roman empire some coins are scarce and could be worth $1000 + but then again most coins you find arn't that scarce and could only be worth $10 even less for culls i buy my coins off eBay for around $.75 each and i get about a half that show good detail
People do not buy Coins, but some buy farm Dollars, which can be used to buy the more rare and expensive items (like large buildings).
The best thing to do is simply look at some of the coins in your pocket change, of course!
You can put coins in an mouldy wrapping and some of the mould spores will rub off onto the coins. This will make the coins LOOK mouldy but, being metallic, they will not actually be mouldy.
