There were many dangers but the pioneers faced Indian attacks, broken axles, wagon accidents, and disease. You could have been run over by your wagon if your animals were too wild or just by accident. You could catch cholera, the flu, measles, fever, or even a snake bite. If you crossed Indian territory you could be attacked and/or ambushed. One of the worst things that could happen to you is that you would get a broken axle.
