The rarest regular-issue wheat cents are 1914-D, with retail prices (as of early 2009) in the $2000+ range for uncirculated specimens. The rarest error wheat cents are 1943-S coins accidentally struck on bronze planchets intended for 1942 coins. Uncirculated ones have sold for over $150,000.
The coins are Jefferson nickels. Both dates are 35% silver coins. Circulated coins are $1.75-$2.25 depending on condition.

Hmmmm. This is a trick question, huh. The two US coins that total fifty-five cents are a fifty-cent piece and a five-cent piece. The fifty-cent piece is the one that is not a nickel.
Not even close. There are many one of a kind coins such as the 1943 D copper cent, half-eagle coins aren't really "rare" millions were minted, but many were melted from the 1930s-70s making them somewhat scarce.
