it is made from fabric sewn together
Approximate fabric in Lady Liberty's dress: 4000 sq. yards
they used home spun fabric and still can be found today in Fabric stores they also had cotton.
I believe they used wool and/or hemp. :)
Joseph Swan was inspired by Edison's incandescent light bulb to extrude filaments of artificial silk. This artificial silk was woven into fabric, which today is called rayon.
The noun fabric is a general noun. A specific noun would be wool, nylon, linen, etc.
In general yes, but it depends on the material, the thickness, and the weave.
I belive the word you are looking for is a tanner. They make leather, but the term is commonly used for cloth makers in general.
really depends on which fabric. But in general, when printing onto a fabric, you would use 'die sublimation printing' This is where ink is printed onto one surface, then transfered to the fabric by pressing (and heating?) the two media together... the ink on the first media turns to gases, and die's the fabric. Well that's how it was explained to me ;)
she was chosen because she was a friend of George washington and she was good with fabric.
It depends on the type of fabric. Natural fibers like wool and cotton are insulators, while synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon can be conductors due to their composition. However, in general, fabric is considered to be a poor conductor of electricity.
There are many items that can be made from Chenille fabric. Pillowcases, duvet covers, bed sheets, cushion covers, curtains or just general upholstery, the possibilities are endless.
Joann Fabric first opened in 1943. The company is based out of Hudson Ohio. The company is headquartered in the General Motors Terex plant. There are now over 655 stores.
The fabric of space is made of a theoretical framework called spacetime, which combines the three dimensions of space with the fourth dimension of time. This concept is a fundamental part of Einstein's theory of general relativity.
The tensile strength of textile can be divided into three types: as for the woven fabric, one is tensile strength, most of fabric can reach this demand, if not, the development of this fabric is unsuccessful, can not be used to make clothing. The second is tear strength, tear the sample a hole first, then use the strength tester to tear the sample and test its sustainable strength, this is a key index and has much more substance. As for the knitted fabric, the index to check the fabric strength is bursting strength. The most relevant to the knitted fabric bursting strength are the yarn strength and fabric weight, if the fabric yarn strength is poor and the fabric weight is light, there will cause problems. The yarn fineness: as for the same material, the thicker the yarn, the better strength, so this fabric strength is higher. The yarn twist: in general, the yarn strength increase with twist, after reaching certain extent, the yarn strength decrease with twist, but it won't happen in general. The fabric density: generally speaking, the higher the fabric density, the more yarn dosage per unit area, so that the fabric strength is bigger. By YULONG FR tex
There is no single "right" answer to this question. It depends on the type of fabric, and the kind of thread you are using. The thicker the fabric (such as denim) the larger the needle needed. In general, if you use a medium needle, you will probably do ok.
Satin: a fabric in a warp-effect or filling-effect satin weave, as acetate, rayon, nylon, or silk, often having a glossy face and a soft, slippery texture.
