Reconstruction was the time in United States' History when the South rebuilt after the Civil War. Lincoln set up military districts to assign each state to and the Union generals kept order in the territory over which they preside. Each military district did expire though. From 1863 to 1877, the revision of these states took time, but were steadily made, by boosting social and economic components of the Southern states. Each state needed 10% of its population to approve the addition of the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to their respective states' constitution. By doing this, each state could then re-enter the Union.
