In "A Fragment on Slavery," Abraham Lincoln expresses his moral opposition to slavery, emphasizing the inherent injustice of denying individuals their freedom. He reflects on the moral implications of slavery and the importance of human rights, suggesting that a nation cannot endure half free and half slave. Lincoln's writing illustrates his belief in the fundamental equality of all people and foreshadows his commitment to the abolition of slavery as a necessary step towards a just society.
Pro-Slavery means that you support the idea of enslaving people.
He hated slavery! So he went to war to stop slavery! The North did not have slavery. But the South did! So he wanted to put a stop to the slavery! So he could free the slaves from the South and bring back together the Union and the Confederates into one Nation. Originally Lincoln wanted to stop slavery from spreading north into Illinois, Ohio and beyond. When the South left the Union and formed The Confederate States Of America Lincoln went to war to preserve the Union and abolish Slavery.
Lincoln became famous for arguing against popular sovereignty.
The South wanted to keep the idea of slavery so that the inhabitants of the southern United States could make a bigger profit out of cotton farming.
The biggest disagreement between the north and the south was slavery. The south wanted slavery but the north did not. the north beleived that slavery was cruel and wrong and in almost all northern states it was illgegal. however the south had very fertile land, perfect for planting crops like tobacco and cotton. they needed slaves to collect and clean these crops and they feared their economy would fail without the free labor from slaves. so the south decided to free it's self from the united states and become it's own country where slavery was legal. the north did not like the idea but the north did not start the war. the south attacked a northern fort and began the civil war. This all happened just after Abraham Lincoln became president. Abraham Lincoln and the north won the war and the south was re-joined with the north. Abraham Lincoln also abolished slavery in all states, both north and south.
Many people think he was against the idea of slavery, but really he was not. Abraham Lincoln used slavery as a leverage on trying to get the south to join the union by saying he would free the salves if they did not join back. But otherwise it was not his intentions to stop slavery.
Abraham Lincoln Lead Slavery to an end!
one of his biggest problems was how and what to do about slavery. when the civil war came to hand, he had no idea what to do, yet somehow managed it
Because the two presidents Abraham Lincoln did not agree with the idea of slavery.
Stephen Douglas's idea of popular sovereignty for the expansion of slavery was not in a document, but rather came out in his debates with Abraham Lincoln.
Nooo Idea

well if you know anything about Abraham Lincoln then you would know that he was the president to end slavery. Mr.Lincoln wouldnt have any slaves if he thought that slavery was cruel and unfair. If a person abolishes something then they most likely think that idea is wrong.
Believe it or not there were no polls in 1860. This is a modern idea and really rather silly since they don't mean anything. A poll is only as good as the population polled. This past election proves that.
the main idea of reconstruction is to rejoin the south and the north.
Abolitionists.
He wanted to stop salve treatment among the Latinos and African American citizens, but a mean white man threatened him with a gun behind his head. The man probably killed him because he did not like the idea he made.
