No, the last 1 dollar gold coin was made in 1889.
If the coin is a U.S. silver dollar dated 1896, it's a Morgan dollar and miss Liberty looks to the left, not the right. But a 1896 Barber half dollar faces the right. Look at the coin again and post new question.

The person who created that penny used a portrait for Lincoln for the penny and in that picture, Lincoln is seen facing the right so yeah.
Penny: Abraham Lincoln facing right with a shield on the back with the words ONE CENT on it. Nickel: Thomas Jefferson looking forward from the coin with Monticello on the back. Dime: Franklin Roosevelt facing left with 2 branches on the back and a torch in between them. Quarter: George Washington facing right with a different design each year on the back of the coin.
f your 1905 French Indo-China Piastre coin features a design with the facing direction of the portrait reversed (right-facing instead of left-facing), it could be due to a few possible reasons: Mint error: A mint error occurs when a coin is struck with a mistake during the minting process. In this case, the error might be a result of the die being incorrectly oriented, causing the portrait to face right instead of left. Counterfeit coin: A counterfeit coin is an intentionally manufactured fake that mimics the appearance of a genuine coin. If your coin appears authentic in every way except for the facing direction, it might be a counterfeit. Die variety: Sometimes, a mint may produce multiple versions of a coin design, including variations in the orientation of the portrait. These variations are known as die varieties, and they can be highly collectible.
