In respect to the History of Europe, one time-line (or, 'time table') of especially significant historical events from 1800 to 1850 is the following. In 1804, Napoleon becomes Emperor of France, with the subsequent French dominance of Europe ending finally in 1815 and the consequential rise of Great Britain as Europe's leading power. In 1821, Greece begins its war of independence from the Ottomans, signaling important changes to come in the Middle East. In the 1830s and 1840s, revolutions throughout Europe carry the French Revolution one more step, with traditional monarchy weakening, as a result. In 1848, Marx and Engels publish 'The Communist Manifesto,' which plants the seed for some of the cataclysmic events of the 20th century.
