5-27-11>>> The 1871 gold dollar is a low-mintage issue that is well represented by Mint State examples. Most are seen in MS-60 to MS-63, but circulated coins do exist. That being said, it is still a very scarce coin and authentication is highly recommended. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. In general retail values for low grade coins are $145.00-$250.00, better grade are $300.00-$475.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $500.00-$590.00. Mint State examples are $800.00-$1,800.00 depending on the grade of the coin. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer.
1926 ten dollar gold coin value
A "one dollar" coin has the value of one dollar!
Not gold, but gold-plated. The US never issued a gold half-dollar, plus in any case a coin that large made of gold would have been worth about $20 in 1871. Unfortunately the plating has destroyed most of its collectible value. You may be able to find someone willing to pay extra for it as a curiosity however.
value of 1845 us five dollar coin
This coin needs to be seen for a accurate evaluation. All dates and mints for the series of 3 dollar gold coins have known counterfeits. Authentic 1871 coins are valued at $500.00-$900.00 in the grades of Good to Very Fine and $1,500.00 to $3,900.00 in Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. I strongly suggest having a dealer or collector assess the coin.
