There were 2 varieties of half dollar issued that year, one with the mint mark on the front of the coin near the motto In God We Trust, and the other with the mint mark on the back at roughly the 8:00 position. Philadelphia issues are all the same because they didn't have mint marks.

Numismedia lists the following retail values as of 08/2011:

No mint mark (Philadelphia):

Very worn condition - $18

Moderately worn - $22

Slightly worn - $24

Almost no wear - $83

Uncirculated - $132 to $10,990 depending on quality

"D" mint mark (Denver) on the front:

Very worn - $22

Moderately worn - $86

Slightly worn - $150

Almost no wear - $431

Uncirculated - $660 to $18,530

"D" mint mark (Denver) on the back:

Very worn - $21

Moderately worn - $46

Slightly worn - $144

"S" mint mark (San Francisco) on the front:

DISCLAIMER: The retail values quoted are the best available as of the date shown, but may vary significantly due to changes in the precious metals market. Also the wholesale (buying) price of a coin will be less than the selling (retail) price. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.
